Larney Aubrey “Buddy” Worthington, 83, entered into eternal rest on July 19, 2019, at Johnston-Willis Hospital, Richmond, Virginia. Buddy was a native of Georgia and a graduate of the University of Georgia. He moved to Virginia in 1967 to begin his lifelong career as a forester, first with Chesapeake Corporation and then as an independent forester. Buddy loved the outdoors, all animals, and his church, Ash Camp Baptist. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp.
Buddy is survived by his devoted wife, Caroline Johnson Worthington; two daughters, Cindy and Dawn; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Claudra and Dan Matthews of Pavo, Georgia; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at 10 a.m., at Ash Camp Baptist Church, Keysville, Virginia. The family will receive friends at the home, 380 Country Club Road, Keysville. In lieu of flowers, please consider the Southside SPCA or a charity of your choice.

Caroline , I am real sorry for your loss , Buddy was truly a friend to many , I did enjoy being in his company and listening to his comments on many topics , he did express his opinions vividly , I thank God for laying it on my heart to come see Buddy just recently , we spoke just briefly of the main need in our lives , Jesus Christ , our comfort throughout life and especially at this time when we celebrate the life of a loved one , especially our spouse , this is only the beginning although we morn but throu Christ , there is comfort and salvation , heaven can be our home for all eternity , I pray for you and your family and may we all be strong witnesses for Jesus , God bless
