Alvis Mason Burroughs, age 82, of Meherrin, VA, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2011.
He is survived by three children, Billy Burroughs of Disputanta, VA, Ronnie Burroughs of Keysville, VA, Rachel Thompson of Mosley, VA; three grandchildren, Paul Burroughs, Phil Burroughs, Chad Thompson; four great-grandchildren; three brothers; and two sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, February 27, 2011, in the Ledbetter Christian Church in Meherrin, VA, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, on Saturday, February 26, 2011, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Ledbetter Christian Church or the Charlotte County Rescue Squad. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is in charge of arrangements.
