Butch Thaxton, 67, of Green Bay, VA formerly of Sissonville, WV, passed away, suddenly, Thursday, May 16, 2013 at his home. He was the son of Okie and Mabel Thaxton. Butch was the owner of the former Shoney’s in Farmville, VA. Butch was the kindest man you would ever meet; he would give you the shirt off his back. He loved to play poker, golf and just sit outside and enjoy the day. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 41 years, Brenda Thaxton. Butch is also survived by two sons, Steve and daughter-in-law, Melisa Thaxton of WV, Curtis and daughter-in-law, Melissa Thaxton of CT; two grandchildren, Bailey and Brittany; two sisters, Bessie Gandee and Sissy Patterson of WV; mother-in-law, Barbara Cox; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends that loved him dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of the arrangements.
