Evelyn Jeffers Vassar

Evelyn Jeffers Vassar, born November 24, 1922 to Tilman M. and June Drumm Jeffers, went to be with her Lord August 22, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Clarence Morris Vassar, and four sisters, Edna, Lois, Pauline and Edith. She is survived by her two sons, Rodney R. Vassar and C. Dean Vassar and wife Gwen. Evelyn was a member of Charlotte Court House Methodist Church. She was a life- long advocate for mental health and was one of the founders of the Family and Friends organization for the Lynchburg Training School and Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the CVTC Family and Friends, Inc., Legal Fund, 2532 Keagy Road, Salem, VA 24153. The family will receive friends at her home, 472 LeGrande Avenue, Charlotte Court House, VA at any time. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the Charlotte Court House Methodist Church with visitation following immediately after the service.The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of the arrangements.
