Bailey, Frank LeGrand, age 95, of Keysville, Va. departed this life February 3, 2015 after complications from a fall. He was born October 18, 1919, the son of the late Morgan and Evelyn Bailey. He was one of the oldest living members of Cool Spring Christian Church. Frank’s life was exemplary of hard work and utmost integrity, yet full of fun, laughter, and lifelong friendships. His trademark talents were: staying current with world news, weather, and sports especially Nascar racing, maintaining a remarkably sharp memory, and enthusiastically telling continuing stories about love of the land, tobacco farming and friends in Lunenburg County, WWII soldier memories, and wild hunting and fishing stories. He was still fishing in his boat on the lake at age 94. There’s nothing like the celebration of a kind and generous spirit and a life well lived. To God be the glory! Frank is survived by his wife of 74 years, Geraldine Palmer Bailey, and two children: his son, Mac Bailey, and wife, Betty of Keysville; and his daughter, Bonnie Watts, and husband, Harry of South Boston. Also surviving are four grandsons: Michael Bailey and wife, Christie of Keysville, Steven Bailey of Chase City, Jonathan Bailey and wife, Massie of Clarksville, and Major Galen Huss and wife, Katie of Fort Belvoir. He was preceded in death by one grandson: Eric Huss of South Boston. There are three step-grandchildren: Everett Gee III and wife, Kristin of Farmville, Jo Ann Bauer of Farmville, and Rodney Watts and wife, Tara of Scottsburg. Additionally, there are eight great-grandchildren: Cody, Katherine, Carrington, Nicholas, Ben, and Evan Bailey, as well as Mary Katherine and Nate Huss. There are also several step-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 7 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Cool Spring Church, Ontario Rd, Keysville on Friday, February 6 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cool Spring Christian Church or a charity of your choice.
