Margaret N. Grant, age 66 a resident of Keysville, VA passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, after a year and five months of battling breast and lung cancer.

Margaret was born in Richmond, Virginia, on January 19, 1944. She was an active member of Relay for Life. She was also an active member at Mt. Harmony United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, treasurer of the United Methodist Women Society, historian, and communion stewardess.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 49 years, John S. Grant, Jr.; two daughters, Debbie Forester and Karen Parsons, and son-in-law, Scott Parsons, all of Keysville; five grandchildren, Tad Reynolds, of North Carolina, CJ Harmon of Alaska, Nick Harmon, Alice Forester, and Laura Harmon all of Keysville; a sister, Jean Lacks and a brother Lynn Newcomb of Blackstone; and a brother Charles Newcomb of Georgia.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2010, in the Mt. Harmony United Methodist Church in Keysville, VA with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home on Thursday, July 1, 2010, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The family asks, that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Charlotte County Rescue Squad. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
