Mrs. Paula S. Dunn passed away January 15, 2013 at her home in Cookeville, TN. Paula was born in Johnson City, TN July 20, 1950 to Everett and Wanda Shelton. Paula married William L. Dunn “Lanny” a native of Charlotte County, VA. She is survived by two sisters: Gequetta Shelton Cates of Columbia, SC and Mrs. Brenda Shelton Smith of Sevierville, TN. She is also survived by her husband, William L. Dunn, two children, William Wesley Dunn and Jacqueline Dunn Swallows Heath, and one granddaughter, Alayna Rae Swallows. Paula, Lanny and children lived in the Keysville area from 1990 to 1996 before their business took them back to Tennessee. The family still maintains a vacation home in Keysville, VA. She was a member of the Keysville United Methodist Church. Paula’s greatest love was her family. Her greatest joy was the institution of family love. She loved people and was always happy in the confusion of family gatherings. That’s why she so loved the large Dunn family. She loved the Charlotte County area because she would say, “the people here are all one big happy family.” Paula was loved by everyone except those who have never met her. Paula succumbed to her 7 year battle with breast cancer. There will be a gathering at Browning Funeral Home on Friday, January 25, 2013, to pay our last respects. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 with a service to follow. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the Keysville United Methodist Church coat drive or the Upper Cumberland Susan G. Komen Foundation, 480 One Eleven Place, Cookeville, TN 38506.
