Pernell Jackson Hailey

Pernell Jackson Hailey, age 85, of Drakes Branch, Virginia, passed to his heavenly home on Thursday, January 17, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife, Melissa S. Hailey. Pernell is survived by two daughters, Sharon H. Wade Raleigh of Drakes Branch, VA, and Pamela H. Clapp Bill of Bristol, TN; three sisters, Lillian H. Styers of Drakes Branch, VA, Dorothy H. Osborne of Saxe, VA, and Gladys H. Banton of Scottsville, VA; four grandchildren, Christopher P. Wade Nicole, Kathryn E. Wade, all of Drakes Branch, VA, Brian J. Clapp of Bristol, TN, and Brandon J. Clapp of Birmingham, AL; and three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Hannah, and Emily Wade all of Drakes Branch, VA. He enjoyed farming and was a retired employee of Burlington Industries. Pernell was also an active member of Friendship Baptist Church. He lived a wonderful and full life.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, January 21. 2013, in Friendship Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, Virginia. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice, or to Friendship Baptist Church. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, Virginia, is in charge of arrangements.
