Robert Albert Napier Sr.

Robert Albert Napier, Sr., age 80, of Saxe, VA, departed from his earthly home and entered the gates of Heaven on May 23, 2016. He was proud to have served his country in the Army and was an instrumental part in starting AA in this area. Robert retired from B & W after 38 years, as an engineer, but still remained busy as a member of Drakes Branch Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and doing carpentry work that he loved. His Christian faith could be seen through the life that he led. We will miss his sweet smiles, Spanish dialog, and big hugs! Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Virginia W. Napier, and a daughter, Janet Napier. He leaves behind a devoted wife of 59 years, Dorothy; daughters, Debbie Ayers Ricky, and Tina Murray David; sons, Bobby Napier Melinda, and Michael Napier Terra; Papa to 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Floyd Napier; and sister, Mary Duffie Wayne.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2016, in Drakes Branch Baptist Church, Drakes Branch, VA, with interment to follow in Hebron United Methodist Church Cemetery, Saxe, VA. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to local charities or Drakes Branch Baptist Church for Honduran Missions, a mission that was dear to Robert’s heart. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is serving the family.
