William Ray Mahaffey

William Ray Mahaffey of Charlotte C. H., VA, was born on September 7, 1940 in Mahaffey, PA, passed away on December 31, 2015. He was the son of the late Emery and Ruth Hewitt Mahaffey. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Bob, Sterry, Harry, Graham, and Paul; three sisters, Jessie, Josephine, and Alice. William is survived by four children, Mike Linda, Mary Kay Russell, Patty, TomTraci; two brothers, Butch and Tom; two sisters, Louise and Elizabeth; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. William entered the U S Marine
Corp in 1959; he resided in Southern Maryland until his retirement in 2001, he moved to Southside Virginia. He was a Member of Local 77, Operating Engineers, Washington, DC. William was an active member in good standing with Saint Columbia Lodge AF & AM of Maryland, Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, S. J., USA, Shriners International, and Shriners of North America. “Life is not measured by the breaths that you take rather the moments that take your breath away!”
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, January 4, 2016, at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The
