Mrs. Barbara Ruth Jones Chiles, age 82 of Keysville, VA, passed away at Centra Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, VA, on September 14, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John William Jones of Wylliesburg, VA. Barbara was the wife of the late William Vaden Chiles. She was mother of Johnie Vaden Chiles (deceased) and Richard Gregory Chiles. Barbara is also survived by her grandchildren Holly, Victoria, and Beth; and her great-grandchildren, Kolton, Levi, Summerlyn and Sidney.
She was an active member of the Eastern Star, the Master Gardner’s, and the Keysville United Methodist Church. Barbara was a graduate of Randolph Henry High School and Mary Baldwin College. She taught in various formats before joining the Charlotte County Public Schools as a first grade teacher at Bacon District Elementary School where she was honored as Teacher of the Year.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2020, at Ash Camp Memorial Cemetery, Keysville, VA. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is serving the family.
