Ben Otis Forester Jr., age 86, of Keysville VA passed away peacefully at home on Thursday March 22, 2018.   Ben was born on June 13, 1931 in Jonesboro, Alabama to Ben and Lena Forester. He retired at Langley Air Force Base as a Chief Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force after twenty-six years of service. He and his family then moved to Keysville, VA, where he purchased a farm, worked for the US soil conservation and the US postal service. He then served as the business owner of Keysville Exxon for 39 years.  Ben loved serving the community and he was an avid farmer. When he was not working (which was not often), he loved to hunt, fish, watch football, baseball, basketball and NASCAR.  He was preceded in death by his father, Ben Forester, mother, Lena Forester, four brothers; Bobby, James, Eddie, Raymond, one sister; Faye, two daughters; Carol Ann Ensey, Sherry Cruz, and one grandson; Ryan Morton.  Ben is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol Forester, five children; Eva Collins, Michael Forester, Mark Forester, Tara (and Darrel) Morton, Cara (and Brian) Bennett; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one brother Floyd (and Barbara) Forester.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, followed by grave side service at Mount Harmony Methodist Church. The family will received friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, on Monday, March 26, 2018, from 6:30-8:30pm.  The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is serving the family.

    Condolences and prayers to the Forester family. Been a long time since I’ve seen him but I always remember him and his family as a “kind” family to all. He will be missed.
