Betty Dixon Matze, age 72, of Keysville, VA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 31, 2024. She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde J. Dixon, Jr; and her son, James Earl Garrett.
Betty is survived by her husband of forty-two years, Louis B. Matze; her daughter, Brittany Rutledge and husband, Timothy; her mother, Marian E. Wilmouth; three grandchildren, Jaythan Rutledge, Tiffany Lee, and Jamie Brooke Bush; five great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Tammy Miller.
Betty was a devoted employee of Farmville Wholesale and Electric for thirty-seven years. She loved her family and her pets. She loved taking trips to the beach with her family and she was always rescuing and caring for pets in need.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Mt. Harmony United Methodist Church Cemetery, Keysville, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Southside SPCA, P O Box 66, Meherrin, VA 23954. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is in charge of arrangements.
