Charlotte Dix Hicks, age 82, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on February 3, 2022, at her home in Keysville, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Willie T. Hicks; her parents, Earnest B. Dix, Sr. and Geneva T. Dix; her brother, Earnest B. Dix, Jr.; and her sister, Doris D. Hicks.
Charlotte is survived by her children, Deborah H. Napier, Dennis W. Hicks (Melanie), Diane H. Trent, and Dawn H. Wilkerson (Lewis); seven grandchildren, Tracy E. Mayhew, Joshua D. Napier, Megan Hicks, Chad Hicks, Emma Hicks, Dillion B. Trent, Rachael B. Trent; eight great-grandchildren, Mollie A. Mayhew, Noah A. Mayhew, Spencer A. Napier, Ean P. Napier, Eli J. Napier, Charlotte G. Napier, Addison L. Hicks, A’Mari L. Younger; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Ontario Christian Church. Charlotte was an inspiration to her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 6, 2022, at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Charlotte Court house, VA. A public viewing will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, from 11 a.m., til 5 p.m., at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Charlotte County Rescue Squad or Ontario Christian Church. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is serving the family.

Such a sweet, gentle soul. The family circle keeps getting smaller. Everybody always said how quiet she was, and that was true, but she could also be funny and had spunk too. It was my pleasure to be her ride to church on Sundays. She will be missed, but know that she is home with her Heavenly Father and reunited with the love of her life!
