Donna Carlson, 59, of Drakes Branch, VA, passed peacefully at her home January 1, 2022, surrounded by her family and friends. Born Donna Lynn Thorpe on April 6,1962, to the late Elijah Thomas and Rosie Jeanette Thorpe in Lemoore CA. Donna was a devoted wife and stay at home mom that enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and spending time with her grandchildren. Donna leaves behind her husband Fred Carlson; daughter, Cheryl Barksdale and her husband Tim of Virginia Beach; son, Jason Carlson of Richmond; and five grandchildren, Nick, Kayla, Gavin, Kylee, and Allison.
At this time, no formal memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Charlotte County Rescue Squad. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is serving the family.

To Mrs Donna Thorpe Carlson of Drake’s Branch, We Love you Donna even through our miles. We had great times in Japan and we did our own Cag letter for Ike to take to the Boat for Fred Buddy., us traveling down chicken farm road to go out to your house. Then traveling out to your house in Drake’s Branch and we love the signs out their I still remember them. Beautiful place out there. Loved seeing your daughter and son growing up and getting married and having exciting lives with their children
