Doris Jean Caddell Christian, known to most as “Nanner” or Jean, age 84, of Saxe, VA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 11, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Palmer Christian; her parents, Charles LaVern and Sally Etta Caddell; two brothers, Henry Caddell and Thurman Caddell.  She is also preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Angel Jenkins.

Jean is survived by her four children, Judy D. Smith (Jimmy), S. Joann Lawrence (Phil), Janice F. McCuller (Jeff), Joy C. Saunders; five grandchildren, Jayson R. Morris (Krystal), Sabrina L. Jenkins, Alisa R. Ruddle, Justin R. M. Saunders, and Jessica N. Saunders; four great-grandchildren, Logan W. Jenkins, Landon P. Jenkins, Brody R. Ruddle, and Dalton L. Ruddle; two sisters, Hazel Rogers and Dorothy Kicklighter; two brothers, Bobby L. Caddell (Linda), and K. Marshall Caddell (Linda); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and honorary grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 17, 2020, at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, with interment to follow in the Christian Family Cemetery, Saxe. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home on Sunday, February 16, 2020, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.  The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is serving the family.

    Jean was so full of love and tenderness, she always had a kind word for everyone who was privileged to meet her. We may have lost a shining star, but God gained an angel who will shine brightly welcoming those that He calls home. We love you Jean! Trainia and Pierre
