Edith Gregory Vaughan, age 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend George H. Vaughan, Sr.; and her parents, William Thomas Gregory and Mattie Yancy Gregory; two brothers, Maynard Gregory and Howard Gregory.Edith is survived by one son, Dr. G.H. Vaughan and wife Deborah; one daughter, Deborah C. Vaughan; grandchildren, Chris Vaughan and wife Anderson, Sean Vaughan and wife Christina, Jennifer Stroud and husband Michael; six granddaughters, Judith Vaughan, Crystal Vaughan, Hope Moore, Jamie Vaughan, Lauren Sweeley, and Mary Kaitlynn Vaughan; great-grandchildren, Madison Vaughan, Andrew Vaughan, Tyler Vaughan, Grace Vaughan, Ethan Vaughan, Taylor Stroud, Braelynn Stroud, Lelia Dowler, Liam Dowler, Harrison Sweeley, Aiden Sweeley ; and one sister, Elizabeth Gregory Wood and husband Julian.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 14, 2023, at Friendship Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery, Drakes Branch, VA. Dr. G. H. Vaughan and Reverend Bobby Duffy will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the church 30 minutes prior to the funeral service.

So sorry to hear about your mama. I was just looking through my old Friendship picture book of when Mr. Johnson was the preacher last night and so many memories came flooding back. I can remember your sweet mama teaching Sunday school. May your memories bring you comfort.
