Elizabeth Ann Tharpe, age 80, of Charlotte Court House, VA, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, “Booze” and Annie Belle Taylor; her husband, Raymond Tharpe, Sr.; her brother, “Butch” Taylor; and her step-daughter, Carolyn Tharpe. Ann is survived by one son, Ray Tharpe, Jr., (Michele); one daughter, Debbie Newcomb (Rocky); one granddaughter, Tonya Jackson; and two step-granddaughters, Cindie Stoots (Gary), and Beverly Hughes. She was a long time employee of Red Barn and Bednar’s Nursing Home. The family wishes to say a special thank you to her caregivers, Janice and Marie; her neighbors, Joy, Jere, and Ronnie;  the Charlotte County Rescue Squad, and Centra Home Health and Hospice.

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, with interment to follow in Public Fork Christian Church Cemetery, Red Oak, VA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is serving the family.

    Mrs Tharpe was my “ladybug”. She was one bighearted lady. We had lots and lots of laughs over the years.
