Ida Carrie Johnson Williams was born on August 8, 1935, in Macon, Georgia. After combating several health issues, she succumbed to death peacefully on  Saturday, December 10, 2022, in her sleep at her home. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Clarence J. Williams and her mother Ethel Johnson.

Ida was always concerned for the welfare of others. Her caring attitude was displayed in her secular career as a nurses’ aide at Monmouth Medical Center, in Long Branch, New Jersey. The most demonstrative display of Ida’s concern for others was spiritually. She was baptized along with her husband, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, on January 28, 1961. Because of her love for her God Jehovah, she assisted many persons to develop their own personal relationship with God. One young lady who recently dedicated herself to Jehovah said that Ida’s many years of patient, loving concern for her helped her reach this decision.

Ida was extremely hospitable; her home was always open, and visitors were welcomed warmly. She displayed special attention to those who did not have their own families nearby; many young ones became part of the Williams Family for various lengths of time. Ida’s approachable, calm and non-judgmental manner caused many to seek life’s advice from her. She always directed such seekers to the principles from God’s word the Bible because she knew that this was the only way for successful living.

She was a great cook, was fun-loving, had a sense of humor and enjoyed playing cards and scrabble. Ida was a true Georgia Peach.

Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Robert (Susie), Ronald (Silka), Colleen, and Dinah Williams. Cousins: Ross, Leta, Linda, and Vertdell (Chubby). Honorary daughters: Lynn Garrett, Robin Luis, Lucille Tillman,  Michele Roundtree, Brenda Randolph,  and Allyson (Smoochie) Lynn  Hall-Miller, Camellia Hyman, as well as a host of spiritual sons, daughters and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 24, 2022,  at the Blackstone Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses,  3013 Cottage Road, Blackstone, VA 23824.

My Dear Williams family, I will always remember my wonderful sister and friend with loving thoughts and great respect. I had the honor of studying with her and I immediately recognized her deep love for Jehovah and the way my Ida lived her life. After years of studying I too wanted to dedicate my life and become a loyal friend to Jehovah. I am grateful to Sister Williams for the time and patience that she gave to me! I have so many wonderful memories, but I will never forget her smile and hearty laughter! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this sad and difficult time.

A mothers love is shown in what her children are. We are good friends with Ronald and Silka, and from that friendship we conclude that she was an incredibly self-sacrificing and loyal person. May the loyal God Jehovah comfort all in the Williams family and remember her love, joy, loyalty, and legacy.

    Love,

Claudia and I are happy to have been part of the family while she, Clarence, Colleen and Dinah were in Asheville. I don’t think we ever came out a winners if Ida was at the table playing cards, but we never failed to carry off smiles and warm hearts from any time we spent with them.

We can’t wait to see Ida and Clarence united in the resurrection as we can only imagine how much fun they’ll be when they have their full vigor back. We know we’ll get even better stories than the “fluffed pillows” and rack up ever more enjoyable losses at cards. We especially look forward to Clarence’s baritone laugh and Ida’s chuckle.

We love y’all tons. Since we can’t be there for hugs in person, please give each other some good ones.

Ida will be greatly missed, I always asked here how high she was kicking and we would have a good laugh, soon she will be kicking higher than me and she can have a well deserved good laugh at me. How wonderful it will be to hear her joyous laughter again. We really loved her and all the Williams family and are prayers are with you.
