Tharpe, Jarrett Lewis, age 36 of Drakes Branch, VA gained his heavenly wings in the early hours of Friday October 15, 2021. On August 9, 1985, Jarrett came into this world as a fighter and never slowed down. His life was always full of adventures and failures, but he never gave up & turned his life around.
Jarrett is survived by his parents, Kristy & John Vaught and Perry & Diann Tharpe; his siblings, Jason (Samantha) Tharpe, Robbie (Carrie) Vaught, Kelsey (Derek) Martin, Kaylin Grainger, & Kelsey Grainger. Jarrett’s memories will also be cherished by his nieces & nephews, September & Liam Tharpe, Peyton, Anna & Jack Vaught, and Weston Martin; his grandpa, David C. St John. Also left behind to cherish his memories, the love of his life, Linda Knapp & her daughter, Michaela (Matt) Clements; his aunts & uncles, Alan St John, Amy St John, and Barbara (Jimmy) LaMotte; Cousins/brothers, Joshua (Marsha) Tharpe and Matthew LaMotte; also, Timmy LaMotte, Hayden, Dean, Even & Darby St John. Along with a boat load of cousins and extended family, be it either work or close friends.
Jarrett was employed by Department of Corrections, Buckingham Prison as a corrections officer and held other jobs within their system. Jarrett’s love and enthusiasm was being a fire fighter and EMT. He was a member of the Drakes Branch Fire and Rescue as well as Charlotte Courthouse Fire Dept.
On Sunday October 17, 2021, Browning Duffer Funeral Home, Keysville, VA will be open to the public from 9-5, for those who will not be able to attend the graveside services on Monday October 18, 2021, at 11:00, Evergreen Cemetery, Charlotte Courthouse, VA.
We share a fond memory of Grandpa asking Jarrett in his younger years, “When are you coming back Jarrett”? Jarrett’s answer was always “tomorrow”, no matter what time of day or night it was when we left.
