John M. Edwards, 90, of Charlotte Court House, VA passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024. He was preceded in death by two wives, Naomi (1981) and Paula (2004); one daughter and a son-in-law, Jane and Billy Cary.
John was a longtime member and a deacon of Cullen Baptist Church. He was also a lover of horses and jousting. John competed over thirty-three years in many tournaments where he placed in the top four many times. He was inducted into the National Jousting Hall of Fame in 2004.
John is survived by one son, John “Johnny” D. Edwards; one daughter, Janet Tuck (Robert); four grandchildren, Danny Cary (Dana), Andy Cary (Cameron), Kate Buckler (Brad), Rob Tuck (Sammie); thirteen great-grandchildren, Naomi Cook (Chanse), Anna Grace Habisreitinger (Cory), Lani Cary, Kaci Cary, Cullyn Cary, Colby Cary, Carter Cary, Calland Cary, JT Mathews, Jackson Mathews, Josh Tuck, Teagan Tuck, and Ashlynn Tuck; two great-great-grandchildren, Lane and Harper and one on the way.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a. m., Saturday, July 20, 2024, in Cullen Baptist Church, Cullen VA with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville on Friday, July 19, 2024, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and all other times at the home of Janet Tuck, 676 Dickerson Road, Charlotte Court House, VA 23923. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
