
Michael Paul Gravitte, Jr., age 36, of Keysville, VA passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oscar and Janie Elliott; Richard and Gertrude Hampton; and an aunt, Karen Cephas.
Michael is survived by three children, Allison Gravitte, McKenna Gravitte (whom he was very close to and she held a special place in his heart), and Michael Gravitte; his parents, Michael Gravitte, Sr., of Baltimore County, MD; Chet and Janie Atkins of Keysville, VA; his grandparents, Ronald and JoAnn Gravitte of Harford County, MD; seven siblings, Miranda Gravitte of LaCrosse, VA, Chet Atkins, Jr., of Ruckersville, VA, Tyson Atkins of Keysville, VA, Lee Atkins of Richmond, VA, Demi Atkins of Victoria, VA, Anna Cephas of Queen Anne, MD, and Gavin Gravitte of Myrtle Beach, SC; aunts and uncles, Elizabeth and Steven Fox of Wintergreen, VA, Robin Sarracino of Greenbelt, MD, Barry and Lyn Elliott of Forest Hill, MD, Chad and Sarah Gravitte of Harford County, MD, Shirley and Chip Frazier of Chester, VA, Anthony Cephas of Queen Anne, MD, and Robert and June McCarty of Baltimore, MD; cousins, Luke Fox, John David Sarracino, Kenny Sarracino, Andrew Sarracino, Christopher Sarracino, Buddy Elliott, Tommie Elliott, Jack Elliott, Nicholas Anderson, Tyler Anderson, Mason Gravitte, Emma Gravitte, and Kamrin Gravitte.
Michael was a 2006 graduate of Central High School in Victoria, VA. He was an avid outdoorsman. Michael was happiest when he was hunting, fishing, working terriers with his dad, camping, four-wheeling or just scoping things out. He never met a stranger—he was friendly to everyone and would offer his help to anyone in need. Michael could bring a smile to the biggest grouch and played endless tricks on his siblings and friends. He fiercely loved his family and was a devoted friend. Michael was one of a kind—he made the world a better place.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA. The Reverend Bobby Duffy will be officiating. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
