Raleigh H. Wade, Jr., 63, was called to his heavenly home on October 13, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Sharon Hailey Wade, son, Christopher Wade, daughter, Kathryn Flynn (Dustin), four grandchildren, Zachary, Hannah, and Emily Wade, and Alexis Duffey, and sister, Teresa Scoggins (Buddy). He was preceded in death by his father, Raleigh H. Wade, Sr., and mother, Mary Eggleston Wade. Raleigh loved time with his family and was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need. He enjoyed being outdoors gardening and landscaping and loved sharing fruits and vegetables he grew with neighbors and friends. Raleigh was friend to many, and some knew him as “Pete”. He was a dedicated employee of BGF Industries at the South Hill and Altavista plants where he made many great friends. Raleigh was also an active deacon at Friendship Baptist Church and loved his church family. He will be dearly missed. The service will be held Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Friendship Baptist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of the arrangements.
