Robert Alan Mason, 65 of Keysville, VA met his Lord and Savior on November 19, 2020. Alan is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Cynthia Powell Mason; three sons who he couldn’t be prouder of, Ryan Mason and wife Kristen of Midlothian, VA; Jonathan Mason and wife Brittney of Chesterfield, VA; and Evan Mason of Keysville, VA.  Six precious grandchildren who were the lights of his world, Paisley, Lennon, Nolan, Lakelyn, Charlotte and Oakleigh Mason; and Father-in-law, Carlton Powell.  He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Virginia Mason and his brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Linda Mason.

Alan was a dearly loved friend to so many people and in turn he valued every one of those friendships and the bond he shared with each person. He loved the Lord and his church.  He appreciated the beauty of God’s handiwork in sunrises and sunsets, nature, wild game and beautiful golf courses with white sand bunkers.  Working in his yard was his passion.  He brought joy to the lives of those he touched and first and foremost was a compassionate and supportive husband, father, father-in-law and Poppa.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 22 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Harmony United Methodist Church with burial following. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Due to COVID—19 please wear mask and social distance.  Memorial donations may be made to Mt. Harmony United Methodist Church, 4382 Crab Orchard Road, Keysville, VA  23947. Cindy and family,
Our prayers and thoughts are with you in this untimely loss. We enjoyed working with Alan so much at Longwood where he always had a smile on his face. We have many fond memories of our Prince Edward Methodist Charge years. Also, we will never forget our daughter, Cheryl, being in your wedding. Also Ryan was in Cheryl’s in wedding.
Cherish all the wonderful memories and he was so proud of his lovely family.
