Roland Blayne Marker, Sr., age 61, of Keysville, VA passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents John A. and Alma Shook Marker; his twin brother, John Wayne Marker.
Blayne is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Marker; two sons, Roland Blayne Marker, Jr., and his wife, Ashley, Timothy Ryan Marker and his wife, Amber; six grandchildren, Lily Marker, Hunter Marker, Andrew Marker, Tyler Marker, Ethan Marker, and Adelynn Murphy; one brother, Dwayne Marker and wife, Ilka; two sisters, Melissa Jennings and husband, Wilson, Michelle Wilkerson and husband, Adam.
Blayne attended Randolph-Henry High School and served in the Army National Guard. He was a Correctional Officer at Nottoway Correctional Center. His passion was rehabilitating wildlife fawns.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I can remember when we rescued a newborn squirrel. I kept it for a few days and took it to Blayne, he cared for it until it was grown. He said when it was big enough to survive on its own he turned it loose. The squirrel wouldn’t leave. It takes a special person to care for animals like that. He was special. My prayers are with you and all the family.
