Ronald Francis Doty went to his eternal home on Wednesday, January 10th, 2018, at the age of 72. He is the son of the late Wilda & Francis Doty of Victoria, VA, and is preceded in death by his brother, Willie. Ron is survived by his wife of 50 years, Harriet, his daughters and their husbands, Renee (Tim), Rosalind (Steve), and his five grandchildren Ryan, Jillian, Brock, Connell and Elric. He is also survived by his brother, Terry, and many loving relatives. Ron’s life leaves a legacy of loving patience and selfless compassion for others. He enjoyed sharing his love for God, nature, gardening and art with everyone around him.
A memorial service will be held Monday, January 15th, 2018, at Bonsack Baptist Church in Roanoke, VA. Visitation with the family begins at 1pm, with the celebration of his life beginning at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to Bonsack Baptist Church or Bonsack’s Living Stones Building Fund online / 4845 Cloverdale Rd, Roanoke, VA 24019. Harriet and family. We were saddened to hear of Ron’s passing. I knew Ron for just the last few years and enjoyed our conversations at his home in Roanoke. Ron was a very gifted and talented man. What touched me most about Ron was, with all his medical issues, he didn’t complain and stayed positive. A sign of a strong person.
