Teresa June Thorpe, age 88, of Saxe, VA, entered eternal rest and joined her Heavenly Father on May 3, 2018, in Rock Hill, SC, after a long battle with Dementia. Mrs. Thorpe, or “Sis” as she was affectionately called, was the widow of Frank G. Thorpe Jr. Mrs. Thorpe was born on June 19, 1929 in Schuyler, VA, to her parents Harry and Nellie (Wray) Phillips and was the youngest of eight children. She married Frank G. Thorpe Jr. on September 29, 1945, in Alexandria, VA, and they were married for 67 years. Mrs. Thorpe worked for several years as a switchboard operator for the telephone company in Alexandria, VA. Cherishing her memory are her daughters, Nancy Shipp and Tammy (Bruce) Morris; grandchildren, Stephanie (Steve), Abby (Jamie), Ashley (Matthew), and Joshua (Carly); and 4 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Elizabeth, Makayla, and Abigail.
The Family will receive friends and celebrate her life at Lebanon United Methodist Church on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. Interment Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery, 11135 Crafton’s Gate Highway, Drakes Branch, VA 23937. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is serving the family.

It has been such a pleasure to know Teresa during her stay in Lake Wylie and Rock Hill. I think she started a shopping trend at The Southern Living Christmas show with her wheelchair and cheery smile! I wish I had an ounce of the patience she exhibited with her neighbors at Harbor Chase. She loved the Lord and her family and I know my Mom will have a wonderful new friend in Heaven. Terry
