During a beautiful sunrise Sunday, November 22, 2020, Terry Duffey Palmer, 55, went home to be with Jesus. After a courageous battle with cancer, not one that she lost but a battle she won knowing there was a better place that’s free of suffering and pain. Terry is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, John R. Palmer; her mother Doris L. Duffey; a sister, Pat Nichols (Kenny); brothers, Bobby (Peggy), David, and Scottie (Lisa). Also survives John’s Family; a host of nieces and nephews; and a very special great-niece she considered her own child, Brooke Pulliam. She is predeceased by her father, Sammie Duffey and infant brother, Dale. Terry was a dedicated and faithful member of Southall Memorial United Methodist Church, where she held many positions.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2020 in the Duffey Family Cemetery, Saxe, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Southall Memorial United Methodist Church, Saxe, VA. Due to COVID—19 please wear mask and social distance. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of the arrangements.

I am so sorry for your loss. Terry and I met when we were 6 years old and we went all the way through school together. She was such a sweet, kind, and caring person. May God be with each of you and give you strength at this difficult time. May you all find some comfort knowing that she is no longer suffering. All of you will be in my thoughts and prayers. ❤❤

Terry was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever known. Always thinking of others rather than herself. I will miss our talks and her stopping by and leaving me tomatoes. I feel honored for calling her a friend.
My thoughts and prayers for the family for the days ahead. May the Lord bless each of you.

I was so blessed by Terry during my time as pastor at Southall Memorial from 1998-2001. She was a friend, encourager, and peacemaker. Prayers for the family and friends who are mourning her absence even as we celebrate her victory in Jesus Christ.
