Thomas Andrew “Red” Mays, Sr., age 81, of Keysville, VA, passed away in the early morning hours of his birthday on Sunday, June 2, 2019. He was born on June 2, 1938, to the late Elmer Dillard Mays and Lelia Webber Mays. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of forty-six years, Elizabeth L. Mays; two sons, Thomas Andrew Mays, Jr., (Patricia); and Henry Dillard Mays; two granddaughters, Laurel Catherine Mays and Callie Elizabeth Mays. He is also, survived by two nephews, H. Larry Mays, Jr., and James Patrick Mays; and two nieces, Pat Davis and Berta Johnson. He found joy in his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be missed.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 2019, at Ash Camp Memorial Cemetery, Keysville, VA. The Reverend Ted R. Smith, Jr., will be officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Charlotte County Volunteer Rescue Squad. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is in charge of arrangements.
