William L. “Bill” Johnson, of Keysville (formerly of Madison Heights and Chase City), went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 29th.  He was preceded in death by his parents Rochal and Readie Johnson.  He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Cook Johnson; and his three daughters, Martha Garber (Frank), Susan Clark (Rusty), and Valerie Clark.  He is also survived by four grandchildren, James Clark III (Jackie), Catherine Foster, Kimberly Scarboro (Brian), and Emily Clark; four great-grandchildren; and his brother, Norman Johnson.  Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.  He was a proud Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.  He retired from Craddock Terry after 40 years.  Bill was a faithful and humble servant of the Lord who served in many ways including teacher and deacon.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at 2 p.m., at Ash Camp Baptist Church, Keysville, VA. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.  If you wish to make a memorial gift, please consider the Ash Camp Building Fund of Ash Camp Baptist Church, Keysville, VA.  The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is serving the family.

    My prayers and love are with the family. I worked with Bill at Garland and Estes oil company in the 70’s. He was indeed a good man and will be missed. (Paige and Mike Nipper)
