Bonnie Jacqueline "Jackie" Hughes

Bonnie Jacqueline “Jackie” Hughes, age 58, of Saxe, VA passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Bill Watson Rickmond and Lois Irene Martin Rickmond. In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her nephew, Cody Mann;  her niece, Kendal Tharpe; and her mother-in-law, Sherry Ann Hughes.

Jackie is survived by her husband of twenty-three years, William Henry Hughes of Saxe, VA; one daughter Priscilla (James); one grandson, Ash; one sister, Kathy Mann (Jack) of Saxe, VA; one brother, William “Peewee” Rickmond (Delores) of Keysville, VA; father-in-law, William Haywood Hughes, Jr.; five sisters-in-law, Connie Harris, Carie Davis (Robert), Pamela Lasher, Shelby Tharpe (Tim), Shelly Smith (Henry); one brother-in-law, William Haywood Hughes III; numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Jackie was a very sweet and caring person. She loved her family and she loved everyone, especially all of her two and four legged animals. Jackie worked as a Pharmacy Technician at Charlotte Drug in Charlotte Court House, VA until she had to retire because of health issues. She enjoyed doing word games and coloring.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, Chase City, VA on Saturday, August 30, 2025. Pastor Ian Rigney will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Jackie’s memory to the SPCA. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
