Brenda Ann Jones Brinkley

Brenda Ann Jones Brinkley, age 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 18, 2025. Born in Norfolk, VA on February 20, 1947, to the late Joseph B. Jones and Lillian “Maggie” Lassiter Jones. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Charlie E. Brinkley Sr.; brothers, David Jones, Joe Junior Jones, Robbie Jones; and a sister, Ramona Baker.

Brenda is survived by three children, Shilia Brinkley, Charlie Brinkley Jr. (Jill), and James “Eddie” Brinkley (Kim); ten grandchildren, Nicholas Brinkley, Veronica Washington, Colleen Washington, Aaron Brinkley, Tink Washington, Tori Washington-Velez, Kayla Overby, Julie Brinkley, Landon Brinkley, Logan Brinkley; seven great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Anthony, Carter, Ellysia, Leiani, Leyndell, Benjamin. She is also survived by a brother, James “Eddie” Jones, and two sisters, Sandra Spear and Nancy Galbreath; and numerous nieces and nephews. She had two amazing friendships that lasted over a half-century, Donna Robinson and Marsha Ryan.

Brenda drove a school bus for CCPS for over thirty-eight years and was a positive influence on the lives of many children. She always had a smile for every student. She was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church and a pillar of the Charlotte/Prince Edward County Community.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 24, 2025 in Spring Creek Baptist Church Cullen, VA with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA on Friday, May 23, 2025 from 6 to 8 p.m. Contributions may be made in her loving memory to Spring Creek Baptist Church or Darlington Heights Fire Department. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
