Byron M. Shorter

Byron M. Shorter, 82, of Charlotte Court House, VA, entered his heavenly home on Thursday, December 9, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Murphy and Hattie Shorter; his youngest son, Jimmy Shorter; and his sister, Lois Groves.

Byron is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Shirley Shorter; their children, Timmy Shorter (Kim), Kenny Shorter, Debbie Barksdale (Kevin), Dawn Shorter, Donna Lacks (Steven), Dana Shorter (Will); his niece, Hope Brown (Robert); thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; his brother, Ned Shorter (Joann); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, December 13, 2021, at Centenary Methodist Church Cemetery, Madisonville.  The family will receive friends at the home, 1616 Harvey Road, Charlotte Court House.  A Public viewing will be held, on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, from 9 a.m. til 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please may contributions to the Charlotte County Rescue Squad.  The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is serving the family.
