Charles Edward Strickland, 75, of Keysville, VA departed this life February 4, 2025. He was born September 8, 1949, in Nashville NC.
Charles never met a stranger and was fluent in “you all”. He was quite quick-witted and a man of much wisdom and clever advice.
Charles had a thirty-year career in Real Estate and was instrumental in bringing Hospice to Southside Virginia. He loved the shooting range and was an avid shooter, winning thirty-two National Silhouette Championships. Charles enjoyed tinkering with engines and woodworking.
Charles is survived by his wife, Tammie Jackson; his sister, Barbara Boone of Rocky Mount, NC; nephews, Scott Hicks and Michael Boone of NC; step-children, Sarah Simpson (Boo), and Trey Jackson (Melissa); step-grandchildren, McKenzie Sharpe (JT) and Parker Simpson; step great-grandchild, Dillon; and a host of great-nieces and nephews.
Many thanks are extended to Centra Hospice and the care team for their assistance in allowing Charles to remain in the comfort of his home, where he wanted to be.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday February 7, 2025, at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, with interment to follow in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, consider donations to the Charlotte County Rescue Squad, Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or Centra Hospice. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville VA is in charge of arrangements.
