Clarence Thomas Newcomb, 92, passed away peacefully at his home on August 3, 2025. He was born on October 14, 1932, in Saxe, VA to the late Frank Thomas Newcomb and Harriet Ann Thompson Newcomb.
Clarence served in the United States Army during the Korean War, he was stationed in Germany working on helicopters and airplanes, After the service he worked for various companies; Burlington Industries, Stackpole Components, Le Carbone and Arkless. He was married to the late Carrie Lewis Baker Newcomb for fifty-six years. Clarence enjoyed fishing, golfing, gardening and cooking for various organizations. He especially enjoyed making a stew with his friends.
Clarence is survived by his two daughters, Rhita Kay Newcomb of Winston-Salem, NC and Lisa Dare Newcomb of Mechanicsville, VA; and a multitude of friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery, Randolph, VA. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Arrangements by Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA.
