Moseley, Virginia formerly Charlotte Court House, Virginia

Daniel Burke Felker III, age 68, of Moseley, Virginia, formerly of Charlotte Court House, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Daniel was born on April 27, 1957. He lived a life defined by strength, kindness, loyalty, humor, and deep devotion to his family. A devoted husband, cherished father and grandfather, respected brother, loving son, and loyal friend, Daniel’s steady presence shaped the lives of all who knew him.

At the age of 19, Daniel moved to Prince Edward County to attend Southside Virginia Community College in Keysville, Virginia, where he earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Police Science. He went on to serve the Commonwealth of Virginia with dedication and integrity, retiring as a Lieutenant from the Virginia Department of Corrections after 28 years of service. Following retirement, Daniel raised tobacco from approximately 1980 to 2015 and later enjoyed working with Francisco Restoration Services, Inc. in Keysville, Virginia from 2015 to 2025.

Daniel was an active member of Briery Country Club in Keysville and served on its board for several years. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, generosity, patience, and gentle spirit—someone who always kept his word and brought a smile to others. A lifelong Alabama Crimson Tide fan, Daniel also enjoyed golf, all college football, NASCAR races (especially as a devoted Dale Earnhardt fan), traveling when time allowed, and dancing with his wife any chance he got.

Daniel was a devoted husband to his wife, Pat, and a loving father to Jason and Shannon. He taught his children the importance of hard work, loyalty, kindness, and cherishing life. He was a proud and dedicated grandfather to Caroline, Lincoln, Mason and Layton.

Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Burke Felker, Jr.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Patricia Francis Felker; his son, Jason Rockwell Felker (MaKayla) of Charlotte Court House, Virginia; his daughter, Shannon Felker Collins (Joshua) of Moseley, Virginia; and his cherished grandchildren, Caroline Baker and Lincoln Daniel of Moseley, Virginia, and Layton Rockwell and Mason Dean of Charlotte Court House, Virginia. He is also survived by his beloved mother, Caroline Whitaker Felker of Cullen, Virginia; his sister, Linda Felker Gandiaga (Benjamin); his brother, David Harris Felker (Nola); and a host of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 1 p.m., at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home (110 H Street, Keysville, VA 23947). The Reverend Anthony Reeves and Pastor Thomas Collins will be officiating. Due to the weather, in lieu of a reception afterwards, the family will host a memorial celebration in his honor at a later date.

In lieu of food and flowers, the family encourages donations to the Barksdale Cancer Foundation (P.O. Box 225, Charlotte Court House, Virginia 23923). Arrangements are entrusted to Browning-Duffer Funeral Home, Keysville, Virginia.

The family extends a heartfelt thanks to A Touch of Grace Hospice, especially to Sam Johnson, RN, and Samarian Bellamy, Nursing Assistant, whose kind words, gentle hands, and compassionate presence made all the difference.
