Edith Hood Murray

Edith Hood Murray, age 80, of Lunenburg, VA, went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mathews and Lela Hood; her husband, Raymond Murray; and her son, Cecil Murray. Also, Edith was preceded in death by brothers, Thorbon T.W. Hood, Floyd Hood, Kenneth Hood, Clyde Hood, Robert Hood; sisters, Lois Skelton and Evelyn Weir. She leaves behind a brother, Clifford Hood; sisters, Shirley H. Francis and Jeanette H. Tomlinson; daughter-in-law, Joy Murray; six grandchildren, Candace, Buck, Brandy, Ashley, Carissa, and Jill; six great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Bernard Overby. Edith was a longtime employee of Craddock-Terry Shoe Corporation and a member of the Northside Gospel Chapel.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2015, in the Northside Gospel Chapel Victoria, VA, with interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, on Friday, March 20, 2015, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is in charge of arrangements.
