Ellen Finch Pettus

Ellen Finch Pettus, age 84, of Keysville, VA went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. She was born on June 19, 1940, in Windsor, N. C., to the late L G. and Fanny Miller Finch. In addition to her parents, Ellen was also preceded in death by her first husband, Don R. Knight; and a sister, Imogene F. Perry.

Ellen is survived by her husband of thirty-three years, Willie "Bill “Pettus of Keysville, VA; her daughter, Maria Knight of Charlotte C. H., VA; a sister, Lynette F. Street of Nashville, N. C.; and many nieces and nephews.

Ellen was a faithful and devoted member of Drakes Branch Presbyterian Church, where she served as the church pianist. She was an Elementary School Teacher for Charlotte County Public Schools for forty-five years. Ellen enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends.

A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025. A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, June 15, 2025, in Drakes Branch Presbyterian Church, Drakes Branch, VA. The family will be receiving friends at the home at all other times. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Charlotte County Rescue Squad, P O Box 330, Keysville, VA 23947. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
