Erik Scott Gilley

Erik Scott Gilley, age 54, of Charlotte Court House, VA, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley T. Gilley; and his wife, SamiDail Brown Gilley.

Erik is survived by three children, Easton Gilley, Addie Gilley, and Ellie Gilley; his mother, Linda P. Gilley; brother, Kevin Gilley and his wife, Debra; his fiancée, Jamie McArdle; a niece, Katherine Gilley; a nephew, John Gilley; his father-in-law, Samuel H. “Sammy” Brown and his wife, Wanda; and numerous family and friends.

Erik loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and playing cards. He worked for his father-in-law, Sammy Brown at Brown’s Forest Products as a Sawyer for over twenty years.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the Brown Family Cemetery, 497 Parsons Road, Charlotte Court House, VA. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Barksdale Cancer Foundation or the American Heart Association. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
