Garland Bailey Dix

GARLAND BAILEY DIX, born June 12, 1938, passed away at his home on January 26, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Dix; his parents, Malcolm and Helen Dix; two brothers and their wives, Thomas and Jewel, Robert “Boss” and Becky; his sister, Martha Hammock and her husband, Bobby; brother-in-law, Harry Edwards; and son-in-law, David Ruehrmund.

He is survived by his three children, Annette Ruehrmund, Cindy Dix, Timothy Dix and his wife, Yvonne; one grandson, Cage Dix; and step-grandchildren, Michelle Dunn and Craig Dunn. He is also survived by his sister, Doris Edwards; one niece, Susan Dix; four nephews, Steve Hammock, Bobby Dix, Ricky Dix, and Greg Dix.

Garland was retired from Westpoint-Stevens in Drakes Branch.

A private ceremony will be held at a later date. The family will be receiving friends at the home (7497 Lunenburg County Road, Keysville, VA). In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite charity. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville is in charge of arrangements.
