Haywood Bass III "Todd"

Haywood Bass III “Todd”, 61, of Meherrin passed away on Tuesday, August 11th, 2026.

He had a successful career as Fleet Mechanic at Pepsi for twenty-eight years, and Parker Oil and Propane the last two years. He was a member of Emmanuel Bible Church in Keysville.

Anyone who knew Todd was quickly welcomed with a warm smile. His kind and thoughtful outlook on life and slow to anger perspective brought many people together. He loved hunting, fishing, NASCAR races, tailgating, fish-frys, concerts, road trips, spending time with his boys, family and friends.

He is survived by wife, Robbie Hammock Bass; mother, Linda Bass; sons, Haywood Bass “TJ” (Betsy) and Devin Converse (Sydney); step-son, Lonnie Bowen Jr. “LC” (Jessica); grandchildren: Hunter, Ryland, and Ruby Bass; sister, Candi Hoover; very special uncle, Mike Cannon (Debbie); aunt, Ann Cannon; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard Hammock (Penny); sisters-in-law, Rachel and Madlyn; and many beloved family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Haywood Bass Jr., and step-mom, Mary Bass.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 16th, 2026 from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m., at Browning- Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville. A celebration of life will be held Monday, August 17th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., at Browning- Duffer Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Meherrin Baptist Church Cemetery, Meherrin, VA. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
