Larry Clark Woodson “Heavy Duty”, age 58, of Keysville, VA passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 23, 2026. He was born on December 30, 1967, in South Boston, VA to Larry Lee Woodson and Patricia Ann Duffey. Heavy Duty was preceded in death by his father, Larry Lee Woodson; his maternal grandparents; and his paternal grandparents.
Heavy Duty spent countless years serving the community as a volunteer for the Charlotte County Rescue Squad, but more notably as the Stew Master, making hundreds of Brunswick stews for many charitable organizations and members of the community.
Heavy Duty is survived by his mother, Patricia Ann Duffey of Keysville, VA; his sister, Sharon Woodson (Brian); three daughters, Ashley Hesseltine and her husband, Justin of Okinawa, Japan, Amanda Woodson of Rocky Mount, NC, and Amy Woodson of Chesapeake, VA; a special niece and nephew, Sami and Mark White of Keysville, VA; four grandchildren, Ayden and Phoenix Hesseltine of Okinawa, Japan, Carson and Cali Barefoot of Rocky Mount, NC; two nephews, Riker and Benjamin White of Keysville, VA; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family is receiving visitors at all times at their home: 180 Egg Pickers Lane, Keysville, VA 23947. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
