Marjorie Fore Morris

Marjorie Fore Morris, 93, went home to be with her Lord on July 28,2025. She was a resident of Keysville, VA until 2022 when she moved to Western North Carolina.

Marjorie was born on December 14,1931 to the late Harold Grey Fore and Lucy Quick Fore Graves. She was a graduate of Randolph-Henry High School and Longwood College (now Longwood University) where she obtained Bachelor’s Degrees in Music Education and English. Marjorie taught at Randolph-Henry High School and also used her musical gifts to serve as Choir Director for over sixty years at Ash Camp Baptist Church where she was a lifelong member.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie was predeceased by her husband of almost fifty years, Warren N. Morris and her son Warren N. “Ren” Morris, Jr.

Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Wanda M. Curley and son-in-law Jeffrey A. Curley of Etowah, NC; four grandchildren, Wilson “Billy” Morris (Ashley) of Mechanicsville, VA; Stephanie M. Pyburn (Eric) of Chesapeake, VA; Ryan B. Curley of Asheville, NC and Gabrielle G. Curley of Asheville, NC; four great-grandchildren, MacKenzie and Hunter Morris of Mechanicville, VA and Evan and Logan Pyburn of Chesapeake, VA; her sister, Patricia F. Nichols of Keysville, VA; a daughter-in-law, Donna B. Morris of Richmond, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Greens at Hendersonville as well as Four Seasons Hospice of Flat Rock, NC for their excellent care of Marjorie during her last days. A celebration of Marjorie’s life will be held on Thursday, July 31st at 2 PM in Ash Camp Baptist Church, interment will follow in Ash Camp Memorial Cemetery. A visitation will be held in Ash Camp Baptist Church beginning at 1 PM, one hour prior to the funeral service. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is serving the family.
