Mary Palmer Townsend

Mary “Titlee” Palmer Townsend, age 93, of Keysville, VA, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014. She is survived by a son, John Randall Townsend; two daughters, Gloria Hanks Franklin; and Joyce Martin Wayne all of Keysville, VA; a sister, Geraldine Bailey Frank of Keysville, VA; five grandchildren, Heather Russo Steve of Midlothian, VA, Gail Clark Eric of Fort Collins CO, Shane Hanks Sharon of Keysville, VA, Mary B. Townsend of Keysville, VA, and Taylor Barton of Green Bay, VA; twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; her faithful, caring, and loving caregiver, Doris Cook; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Townsend, and a daughter, Jeanette T. Holloman.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 29, 2014, in Cool Springs Christian Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, on Thursday, August 28, 2014, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Cool Springs Christian Church, The Cool Springs Church Cemetery Fund, or a charity of your choice. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is in charge of arrangements.
