Matilda Gaines Owen, age 90, of Appomattox, VA, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hunter M. Owen, Jr.; four brothers; and three sisters.
Matilda is survived by her daughter, Judy Harris and husband, Otha; four grandchildren, James Ayers and wife, Cathy, Otha Harris and wife, Kathy, Roger Harris and wife, Tammy, Cindy Huber and husband, David; one brother, Tucker C. Gaines; two special great-great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Harris and Tristan Patria; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, May 25, 2018, at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Phenix, VA. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of the arrangements.
