Preston Kelly Locke

Preston Kelly Locke, age 85, of Phenix, VA, left this Earth to join his Heavenly Father on Monday, September 22, 2014.
He is survived by one daughter, Kathy Bryant Ivan; five grandchildren, Bobby Bryant Krystal, Scott Bryant Shawna, Caitlin Bryant, Ashli Reeves Ernie, and Brandon Gwaltney; four great-grandchildren, Aiden, Kinley, Breanna Bryant, and Maddox Reeves; numerous nieces, nephews and a large group of close “shop” friends. Preston was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara A. Locke, and his daughter, Kelly L. Gwaltney.
Preston was a dedicated member of Phenix UMC and an active member of his community. He served a total of 23 years with the military, Navy, and Airforce, before retiring in 1973, to become a jack of all trades. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and will be greatly missed by all.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, September 26, 2014, in the Phenix United Methodist Church with interment to follow in Rough Creek Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, on Thursday, September 25, 2014, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
