Preston Thomas Hamlet Sr.

Preston Thomas Hamlet, Sr., age 81, of Phenix, VA, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Dorothy E. Hamlet; one son, Preston Thomas Hamlet, Jr.; one daughter, Theresa H. Long and husband, Bobby; four grandchildren, Preston T. Hamlet III, Dottie Long, Ryan H. Hamlet, and Cassie Long; two sisters, Freida Whitlow and husband Welford, Laurice Holt and husband, Herman; and one brother, Carroll P. Hamlet.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 30, 2018, in Midway Baptist Church, Phenix, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, on Monday, January 29, 2018, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Charlotte County Rescue Squad or a charity of your choice. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, VA, is in charge of arrangements.
