Rachel Blanks Dickerson

Rachel Blanks Dickerson, age 86, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Born in Drakes Branch, VA to the late Warrie T. and Maggie E. Blanks on August 24, 1939. Rachel attended Charlotte County schools, graduating from Randolph-Henry High School class of 1957.

She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband of 63 years, Gerald C. Dickerson, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and Tom McNeny, Lucille and William Purcell; and nephew, Dr. William Purcell.

Rachel, known as Chacie to family and friends, was a housewife and mother devoted to her family and friends. Rachel worked briefly in retail in Richmond, VA and Brandon, FL.

She is survived by her daughter, Becky Fleetwood, husband Dexter; her son, Jeri Dickerson, wife Cara; five grandchildren, Derek Fleetwood (Allyssa), Kayla Psaros (Jeff), Lauren Fleetwood (Andrew Tran), Haley Dickerson, Zachary Dickerson; three great-grandchildren, Luke, Maggie, and George; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held June 6, 2026 at 11 a.m., at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Red Oak, VA. Pastor Amy Williams will be officiating. Family will receive friends after the service.
