Robert “Bob” Gallion, 87 of Keysville went to his eternal rest on Wednesday February 15, 2023. He leaves behind Ross Johnson Gallion, his devoted wife of 64 years; two sons, Timothy Gallion and wife Sharon of Meherrin, and Jonathan Gallion and wife Wendy of Keysville; grandchildren, Patrick, Robyn, Bryan, and Nick; great grandchildren, Jasmine and Daniel; and a sister, Elaine Hall of Lacrosse.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Eugene Allen and Ruby Carpenter Gallion and a son, Christopher “ Rob” Gallion. Also preceding him in death were his siblings: Harold Gallion, Edwin “Sonny” Gallion, twin brother Richard “Dickie” Gallion, Louise Gallion Lepezzi and Emily Jean Gallion Roberts.
Bob retired from the United States Navy, after serving honorably for twenty years and continued to “serve” his family and friends, always willing to lend a helping hand and always fighting for what he felt was right. Bob enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. Having a cup of coffee with his buddies, going to auctions to find treasures, and watching the backyard wildlife feast and frolic brought many smiles to his face. Bob loved working outdoors, cultivating the greenest yard and the prettiest tomatoes around. He took great pride in all his ventures. Bob’s health battle was his toughest fight, but the victory was the sweetest.
The family with gather with friends for a memorial service on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 2 pm at Browning Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, Virginia.
