Robert Glenn Seamster

Robert Glenn Seamster “Pa”, age 87, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026. He was born on September 3, 1938, to the late John and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Seamster.

Robert was a devoted husband, a faithful servant of the Lord, and a man who deeply cherished his family. He was married to the love of his life, Hazel Hamlet Seamster, for 38 wonderful years until her passing. Later in life, he married Freda Dowdy Seamster, who also preceded him in death.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Robert spent much of his life working the land, farming dairy and beef cattle. He was known for his hard work, dedication, and the simple, honest life he lived.

A man of deep faith, Robert trusted in the Lord and found great joy in his beloved family.

He is survived by his children: Donnie (Barbara), Rhonda (HT), Karen (Eddie), and Robin. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Samantha (David), Elizabeth, Hailey (Tyler), Adam, Preston, Mason, Anna, Katelyn, Teagan, and Lance; and eight great-grandchildren.

He is further survived by his sister, Frances Beagle (Harold), and his sister-in-law, Ann along with many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wives, Hazel Hamlet Seamster and Freda Dowdy Seamster, his brother Joseph Seamster.

Robert will be remembered for his strength, his kindness, his unwavering faith, and the love he gave so freely to those around him. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he held so dear.

Family night will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 6:00–7:30 p.m., at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Staunton River Baptist Church (2400 Ridgeway Road, Brookneal, VA), with interment to follow at Bethel Baptist Church. The family will receive visitors at the home of Robert at any time. Browning-Duffer Funeral Home is serving the family.
